Thanks for making Wear It Pink Day such a success

Coffee mornings held at Riwal UK depots, head office and ALS Safety premises, and a prize draw, have raised an impressive £3,780 for cancer research charity Breast Cancer Now.
The fundraising events were part of Riwal UK’s Rise Above Breast Cancer campaign. They took place on Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear it Pink’ national fundraising day.
HR Manager Claire Waples, who is organising Riwal UK’s year-long Rise Above Breast Cancer fundraising campaign, said: “We are very grateful to our suppliers and customers who generously donated items to our prize draw. Thank you to everyone who took part.
“Breast Cancer Now was nominated and voted for by Riwal employees and several have a family connection to breast cancer. Around 55,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer every year and by raising funds we are helping to fight the disease.”
12 months of fundraising initiatives
Riwal UK is organising fundraising initiatives between July 2018 and July 2019. Five per cent of the hire fees of the ‘Pink Ladies’, a pink liveried JLG 600AJ boom and a pink Holland Lift B-195DL25 4WD scissor lift are being donated to Breast Cancer Now. Riwal UK staff are also holding individual fundraising activities.
Riwal UK has set a target of £5,000 to be raised by the end of the 12-month campaign.
Angela Adams, Breast Cancer Now Community Engagement Officer, said: “We are so incredibly grateful to everyone at Riwal UK for getting involved in the fundraising and for raising such an amazing amount. We can’t wait to see what fantastic fundraising you’re going to be doing next!
“All your efforts are helping us get ever closer to achieving our aim that by 2050 everyone who develops breast cancer will live – and live well – we can’t get there without you!”
Breast Cancer Now is funding breast cancer research worth almost £24m every year paid for through donations.
