Our sustainability commitment

Riwal associates its objectives for 2030 with three focus areas Customers, Environment, Employees & Communities. We have included these core areas in our Lifting Sustainability program. Some of these objectives are aimed at sustainable business operations within our own organization. We call that ‘keeping our own house in order’. The other objectives concern developments that increasingly make sustainability part of our industry. We think it is important to be a pioneer in this. By focusing on these areas, we can make an important contribution to making working at height more sustainable and distinguish ourselves in the market as a sustainable knowledge partner. On top of making our own operations and sourcing decisions more sustainable, we encourage the market to innovate and deliver sustainable products or services. Our suppliers play a very important role in achieving our objectives. We aim to continuously identify opportunities, risks, and improvement possibilities in our entire value chain by taking health and safety, ethics, environment and human rights into account.

Employees & Communities

We attach great importance to healthy, happy and motivated employees. This is not only important for us and for the continuity of the company, but also for our employees themselves. Through our Vitality program we commit to providing a sustainable and diverse working environment to all employees: from sporting events, healthy food at work, health and workplace checks and job coaching to guidance in the event of illness. Through our Riwal academy, we provide our employees with mandatory as well as optional training such as technical knowledge, skills development or full studies opportunities. We also want to give back to the community in which we operate and we do that through contributions to local NGOs, participating in community green runs etc.

Environment

We commit to protect the environment we work and live in, by preventing pollution, minimising our negative impact and increasing our energy, resource and water-use efficiency. For our customers, the sustainable services we provide are at the heart of our Environmental strategy. In our depots and facilities, we invest in waste separation, water recycling system, LED lighting and paperless office to reach our environmental goals.
