Riwal UK Shows Way with International Standard Success

Riwal ISO Standard

Continuous development of integrated management systems has allowed Riwal UK to upgrade certification for two international standards, giving customers enhanced assurance about business quality and environmental control.

In the last six months, Riwal UK has moved from ISO 9001:2007 to ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and from ISO 14001:2004 to ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management.

The powered access hire and sales specialist is also on course to transition from OHSAS 18001:2007 to ISO 45001:2018, which sets a new global benchmark for occupational health and safety.

If Riwal UK achieves its transition deadline of early 2019, it is likely to be one of the first powered access rental companies to achieve ISO 45001: 2018 in the UK.

RIWAL UK Country Manager Mick Ledden said: “Many of our customers require ISO quality standards as part of their supply chain accreditation. It is essential that our processes integrate smoothly with theirs. 

“ISO certification demonstrates that we have the systems needed to work with global companies and get up to speed with their business very quickly.

Riwal UK Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager Calum Patterson said: “We measure everything from customer satisfaction to reliability rates, and we conduct internal audits to ensure everyone in the business complies with our systems and processes.

“We’ve just had a two-day compliance-to-standards external ISO audit at the Kent London South depot and the hire desk has been internally audited on customer processes, including quote generation, hires and off-hires.
