This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Support Manager with vast knowledge of powered access equipment and computer systems to join an award winning team, in a fruitful and fulfilling position. The ideal candidate will manage a team of mobile engineers and various office based engineering activities at our Head Office in Wellingborough.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Managing the Technical Support Desk and a team of mobile engineers

  • Provide technical advice to mobile staff and customers on the telephone

  • Allocating mobile engineers to breakdown locations and monitor breakdown history

  • Work alongside and support the Technical Development Manager, ensuring machine quality

  • Report on engineering outputs as required

  • Record all examinations and services completed on machines with use of Google Drive, In-house Apps and reports

  • Produce qualitative and quantitative engineering related information

  • Invoice customers

  • Ensure all engineering related initiatives are carried out to appropriate standard and within acceptable timescales

  • Ensure all maintenance actions are carried out to appropriate standard and in within acceptable timescale eg service, Thorough Examination etc

  • Ensure effective implementation of all engineering policies and procedures

  • Identify collective and individual staff training needs

  • Support compliance to all legislative requirements, and internal QHSE standards

  • Deliver technical initiatives and projects through to satisfactory outcome

  • Ensure continuous improvement in all engineering standards, using best practice

  • Share best practice across all Group Company businesses

  • Liaise with Riwal International and support their customers.

  • Liaise with the Hire Desk

  • Liaise with manufacturers regarding - new machines, training and machine issues

  • Liaise with external parts and service providers when required

  • Manage all resources related to the maintenance of a large mixed fleet of Powered Access Equipment.


The ideal candidate will have:


Previous experience of engineering supervision within a plant hire environment

Formally trained in an engineering discipline, and qualified to C&G 390, NVQ level 3, or equivalent

Good communication and people management skills

Good understanding of Google Drive and intermediate computer skills

Good upward and downward communication skills

Current powered access equipment knowledge
