Riwal UK welcomes company’s expansion in Europe

AH Lift Aps

Riwal UK Country Lead Mick Ledden has welcomed Riwal’s acquisition of a telehandler rental specialist in Denmark – saying it reflects the dynamism of the business that delivers real value for customers.

Riwal, the international aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist, has acquired rental company AH-Lift ApS. The acquisition became effective at year-end 2018.

Mick Ledden said: “Riwal is one of the most dynamic and innovative powered access rental specialists in Europe, which is reflected in our continued growth both organically and via acquisition.

“This success is underpinned by the Riwal Way, a unique and strong ethos that puts business efficiency and customer focus at the centre of everything we do wherever in the world we deliver our services.

“A key benefit of doing business with Riwal is our ability to source and supply the best access machines for our customers, including the largest and most advanced booms in the world, backed by the best expertise and advice on using them effectively and sustainably. This acquisition strengthens that ability still further.”

Aerial work platform rental specialist

AH-Lift is an aerial work platform rental specialist, with its depot located in Hvidovre, near Copenhagen, where the company was founded 30 years ago.

The company has 20 employees and operates a fleet of around 200 machines including boom lifts and scissor lifts. It also operates special platforms such as large spider lifts and truck mounted platforms.

AH-lift and Riwal will initially operate independently, but over time the AH-Lift depot and its employees will be integrated into the Danish Riwal depot network, increasing the number of depots to six.

The AH-Lift owners and key managers will remain with the business and continue to run the company under the leadership of Riwal Denmark Country Manager, Claus Kromann.

Strengthen position in powered access hire market

Søren Rosenkrands, Riwal’s Chief Business Development Officer, said: “The acquisition of AH-Lift ApS enables Riwal to further strengthen its market position in Denmark. Riwal and AH-Lift are a perfect fit as both companies are specialists in powered access and have a complementary customer base because of their diversified products.”

Finn Aaberg, AH-Lift’s former owner and Managing Director, added: “I am confident we will be able to further grow our portfolio of niche products, which will be to the benefit of our customers. Also, our employees will be able to take part in new development opportunities within the Riwal Group.”

Riwal UK operates four depots in the UK, in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, Sevenoaks, in Kent, Bracknell, in Berkshire, and Wigan in Greater Manchester. It is also due to open a new London North depot in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
