Riwal Readynez powers to second place in Tour de Yorkshire
Cycle racing team Riwal Readynez has powered its way to second place in the Tour de Yorkshire 2019, just behind Team Ineos, formerly Team Sky.
The team, sponsored by powered access hire and sales specialist Riwal, performed particularly strongly in stages 3 and 4 of the four-day event, which finished in Leeds, West Yorkshire, on Sunday 5 May.
Riwal Readynez rider Alexander Kamp won Stage 3 of the race from Bridlington to Scarborough in an exciting sprint finish. He edged out the final overall winner, Chris Lawless of Team Ineos, on the line after 135km of racing.
Kamp finished 7th on Stage 4 and 4th overall, completing a successful tour for Riwal Readynez, which is based in Denmark and has riders from Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Riwal UK Country Manager Mick Ledden said: “It was great to see the Riwal name powering its way around the fabulous county of Yorkshire, supporting such a talented group of sports people.
“In fact, it was, perhaps, fitting that Riwal, a global leader in powered access, allowing customers to work safely at height, should be featured so prominently in a race in one of the UK’s most hilly regions!
“We work closely with our colleagues in Denmark and across Europe to ensure our customers have access to Riwal’s unrivalled range of powered access machines, including the world’s biggest and best super and ultra booms, so it is good to be supporting sporting excellence on the European stage as well.”
The Tour of Yorkshire is held over four days along a 618km route. A record 2.6 million spectators lined the route during 2018, contributing to an overall tourism spend over the four days of £97,973,806, up 54% on 2017.
