Staff development benefits customers

Riwal depot engineer

Riwal gives every employee opportunities for training and professional development.

Its investment in skills training benefits workers and, therefore, its customers.

Mobile and depot engineers receive full aerial platform manufacturer training from the day they join. The training is ongoing and regularly updated, which sets a best practice standard in the powered access hire industry.

Kent Depot Engineer Dan Stockley has received manufacturer training and is also about to start his IPAF Competent Assured Persons (CAP) certification.

Dan says: “Riwal really does feel like a company that cares. They’ve helped me with a development plan for my future. It’s helping with my career.”

The Riwal Way promotes up-to-date knowledge and skills

This approach to staff development is part of The Riwal Way, a corporate philosophy that strives for continual improvement in customer service and delivery.

Mick Ledden, UK Country Manager, said: “Nothing stands still in the powered access hire industry. At Riwal, we invest in our people and make sure they maintain current, up-to-date knowledge and skills.

“Modern construction methods and modern industries including aerospace and renewables, require modern powered access solutions and staff with expert knowledge of the full range of aerial platforms.”

Encouraging innovative access problem-solving

The Riwal Way encourages creative thinking, starting with improving small, everyday activities right through to developing powered access hire management systems for the largest and most complex construction and maintenance projects.

Mick Ledden said: “We work in partnership with our customers. People from all parts of the business contribute to increase customer productivity, whether that’s just-in-time delivery systems or ensuring the powered access hire fleet is always well maintained.

“To achieve this, we make sure our people have the right mindset and the right skills for the job.”
