RIWAL EXPANDS IN EUROPE WITH NEW DEPOT OPENINGS
Riwal, the international aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist, continues to expand in Europe by opening four new depots in the UK, France, the Netherlands, and Croatia.
London (Hemel Hempstead), England
Hemel Hempstead is strategically located North of London. The new depot location provides an immediate link to the national motorway network and the M25 motorway around London. This makes it easy to transport machines to and from central London, Heathrow and Stanstead Airports.
The M1 motorway is 2 minutes’ drive away, providing access to Birmingham and the Midlands in less than 2 hours’ drive time. The new depot meets the highest standards of environmental and ecological design, with rainwater harvesting and solar panels on the roof, fulfilling Riwal’s goal of becoming increasingly sustainable.
Paris (Ecquevilly), France
Ecquevilly, a city west of Paris, is a great location for the new depot location in France to serve customers in the Île de France region. Encompassing Paris and the surrounding suburbs, this region has an increasing customer need for powered access equipment.
Riwal now has three depots in this region, with a fleet of 1,000 machines. Additionally, the new depot is certified to lead CACES training, a course that helps operators learn to operate aerial work platforms and telehandlers safely, along with other types of safety training.
Zwolle, the Netherlands
Zwolle, a city in the northeast of the Netherlands, is the location of the next depot to open in Riwal’s flagship country. The central location of Zwolle is optimal for increasing the company’s presence in the country in an area that was previously not covered by a local depot.
Therefore, Zwolle serves as a perfect match for Riwal’s strategy to have nationwide coverage in the Netherlands. Moreover, this area has an attractive labor market that will help provide the company with employees and decrease unemployment rates in the local community simultaneously.
The depot is being constructed with sustainability in mind and uses no gas whatsoever. Thus, it is in line with the Paris climate agreements and Riwal’s sustainability strategy.
Rijeka is the third-largest city in Croatia and has an important seaport located on the Kvarner Bay, making it strategically accessible. With an economy that relies heavily on maritime transport and shipbuilding, Rijeka is an excellent location for Riwal to open a depot to serve customers who focus port expansion developments.
The depot will be close to the highway towards Zagreb, increasing the ease of transporting machines. In addition, as this depot will be more centrally located in Croatia, both the time to deliver machines and transportation costs will decrease, benefitting our customers.
Pedro Torres, Riwal CEO, said: “By opening new depots in Europe, we strive to deliver access solutions to customers more conveniently. Having closer proximity allows us to serve our customers even better, helping them to complete their projects at height both efficiently and safely. Increasing our presence throughout Europe will allow us to have a faster response time, which is at the core of delivering the best customer experience.”
