Join us to Wear it Pink for breast cancer research

The team at Riwal UK is preparing to Wear it Pink in support of Breast Cancer Now.

The breast cancer research charity’s annual Wear It Pink day is on 18th October 2019, which is when Riwal offices will be a riot of even more colour than usual.

Riwal UK is supporting Breast Cancer Now through its Rise Above Breast Cancer campaign for a second year after raising £10,000 for the charity in 2018/19.

Let's all wear it pink

Breast Cancer Now has joined forces with Breast Cancer Care, to create one charity, so money raised will help people with breast cancer as well as scientists find cures for it.

As well as being personal, walking, talking breast cancer beacons of hope, thanks to wearing pink threads, Riwal staff have organised a Wear It Pink raffle.

Customers will have a chance to win prizes as new hires in the run up to Wear It Pink day will be entered into the draw free-of-charge, though donations to the Rise Above Breast Cancer JustGiving fund are welcomed.

Prizes include two bottles of Champagne, a scale model of a JLG 1850SJ, the world’s tallest self-propelled boom, and an IPAF training course (3A/3B) and a free harness.

Riwal UK National Manager Mick Ledden said: “Our first year supporting Breast Cancer Now was inspirational. Riwal’s Rise Above Breast Cancer campaign really caught the imagination.

“We’re going to reach as many people again, and more, this year. Thanks to the fantastic work of Breast Cancer Now, more women and men are surviving the disease, and its excellent work still needs our support.”

As part of Rise Above Breast Cancer, Riwal UK painted a boom lift and a scissor lift bright pink. These caught the eye of thousands of people when out on hire, raising the profile of Breast Cancer Now across the UK.

Betty Boom and Susie Scissor are still a key part of the campaign, with five per cent their hire fees going towards Riwal’s fundraising campaign.

Now other Riwal operations across Europe have been inspired to paint their platforms pink, to raise money for breast cancer support.
