Transport Planner

London North Depot located in Hemel Hempstead


  • Responsible for efficient delivery/collection of machines. Driving efficiency across transport.

Organisational Structure 

  • Reports to the Rental and Fleet Manager

Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Plan cost effective & efficient routes to support Riwal customers and meet customers’ expectations of delivery times;
  • Manage the safe operation of the drivers and vehicles to comply with UK law and Riwal standard;
  • Actively support and engage in The Riwal Way;
  • Preparing daily route schedules for drivers and contractors in both App and Dynarent;
  • Completion of daily routes cleared down and completed ready for invoicing;
  • Keep contact with drivers/contractors throughout the day to ensure everything is running to plan;
  • Any issues with possible late deliveries to inform the client in a timely fashion;
  • Deal with any required booking systems as requested by clients;
  • Ensure all paperwork in order. Signatures, Fuel recorded, Damages;
  • Arrange all maintenance of vehicle and ensure cover is in place if required;
  • Keep accurate daily logs of any ‘adhoc’ transport (emergency, failed delivery/collection etc);
  • Ensure any compliance requests from Plumwood dealt with;
  • Ensure all driver tachos and vehicle downloads dealt with within DVSA guidelines;
  • Produce and provide all hauliers with purchase orders once the days value has been agreed;
  • Source suitable hauliers and negotiate rates;
  • Assist other departments as and when required or members of the SLT;
  • Maintain an accurate record of all works to support analysis of the transport planning;

  • Experience in a rental or transport logistics;
  • Good knowledge of geography;
  • Good English and local language skills;
  • Knowledge of MS Office;
  • Quick learner, eager to learn and develop;
  • “Can Do” attitude.
